Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Sometimes, you're the hardest person to forgive and let go. I often say that the three hardest critics I've ever known are "me, myself and I." This isn't just a joke, there's a lot of truth to it!
Although it might be difficult, it's vital that you learn to forgive yourself, and let go. When you do, you'll actually allow yourself to do and be who you really want to be - free and happy. This is zoe living. At Rhema, we use our Christian Yoga classes to help students understand how quickly and lovingly God forgives and forgets so that they can begin to do the same. This is how we learn to get past our past, and look forward. We are more than conquerors in Christ, because we are empowered to live our lives with our destiny in mind. We are significant as children of God.

Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...This is an important truth to understand and remember... you cannot control or argue with reality... you can only accept it and decide how to respond to it.
So many times, people get upset with the world around them because it is not what they want, or what they expected. This is understandable, but the major problem is what happens next. Upset at their reality, people often then react, trying to either run away from their reality or control it. Much better is to respond to the reality around you. When we react to our reality, we are not present. When we respond to our reality, we are present. If you are not present, you are not living your life fully. You are not taming your thoughts and putting them under lordship, and you are not living as a light to the world. It's so important to understand how responding to reality, accepting the world around you, and remembering that God is good no matter what affects your ability to be present. At Rhema, we teach our students how to be present, mindful and a light to the world through our system of Christian Yoga that features teachings, meditations, postures and more. It's a never-ending journey that brings more and more blessings each step of the way! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...What is "Yoga?" Yoga means union, or yoking. Many say that we are yoking ourselves with the one and only Supreme Spirit.
To Rhema Yoga, that can only be God - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We use Christian Yoga to yoke ourselves to Him and grow in power, significance and identity, because his yoke is gentle. His burden light. Through breathwork, yoga postures, meditations, teachings and more, we learn to connect with, or yoke to, God in more ways than ever before. Through that connection, union. Through that union, significance, power and identity. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So many times we become passionate about something, begin it, and then let it fall unfinished. It's important to remember, at these moments, that we need both passion to ignite us and get us going, and character to continue after the burning passion has worn out.
So many times, when our passion runs out, we believe we should stop what we're doing - this is not true. At Rhema, we know first hand that in anything you do, whether relationships, your Christian yoga practice, your secular career, your Christian ministry, or anything else, your passion will come and go. Being passionate about something is not a bad thing, but make sure you can finish whatever you start. If you're stuck, get passionate to get going. If you've started too many things, step into your great character and see it through. This is the way of the Kingdom. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we are saved and set free, we follow Jesus and find a great amount of joy come into our lives. But often, we start thinking that our lives here on earth should suddenly become easier, happier, and more comfortable than ever before. This can be problematic, because not only is that not promised, it's often not true! Followers of Jesus are on this earth for many things - spreading the light of God, loving mankind and more.
One of the other things we are here for is sanctification. This means that one of the major reasons we are here is to face tribulations, and learn how to overcome them by becoming more like Christ each time. This is, I'm sure you can guess, not easy to do. So as sure as tribulations will come, it's also sure that you will stumble from time to time. The simple truth is that while we follow Christ, we are not yet like Him. That's the point! At Rhema, we work to remember that it's often easy for us to believe lies about ourselves when we stumble. A very common lie we hear after we stumble is that we're stuck - but the fact is that you were made for freedom. Our system of Christian Yoga is designed to remind you that in Christ, you've been set free. Sometimes you stumble; but you get up, seek forgiveness, shake it off, and go forward again. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...This is a Psalm of joy and praise that reveals the true nature of God. When we read the scripture, and especially the Old Testament, we can sometimes be surprised by the punishments and judgements that we see written out. Psalms like this are important, and valuable to us in moments when we forget the true nature of God.
He is always good. He is always compassionate to His children. When we remember His nature, we adjust the lens that we see Him with. We are able to see everything about God, both in the scripture and in our own lives, with a proper lens. He is good, and whatever He does, He does with a heart of mercy. Sometimes that means judgement, and sometimes that means blessings. As small humans, we cannot always understand someone as massive and powerful as God. But at Rhema, we remember, through our Christian Yoga practice, that we don't need to understand all He does. We simply need to know Him. To connect with Him. To love Him as children of the King. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...In this age of devices, streaming media, social media and more, it's become harder and harder to stay present. One of the costs that comes with this is consistently missed opportunities to connect with other people.
You must be present to have meaningful connection. At Rhema, we use our system of Christian Yoga to stay present. That means focusing less on devices and "digital leashes" (as they are called at the Rhema Institute), and focusing more on the people in front of us, around us and close to us. This is not just about meeting new people. It's also very important when it comes to nurturing existing relationships. Especially true With every opportunity to stay connected to people long term, we often miss actually connecting with the person in front of us. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So often in our walk, we focus on trying to manipulate and control the results of whatever we are working on. While this seems to be wisdom, it actually brings a lot of pain, frustration and suffering, all brought on by our controlling tendencies.
This can be especially frustrating when we know God's heart for something and want to change the world to make it a better place. We try to control the results of our ministry work because we think that God is counting on us, or depending on us, to get the results He needs to change the world. Knowing God's heart for something, and doing anything else that we think is important, cannot feature us trying to manipulate and control the results. We can only know God's heart, follow His instruction, and let him be in control of the results. If the results don't work out, perhaps we try again with planning and action, or perhaps we move on. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to remember that God calls us to be faithful in what He's asked us to do, not control the results or the outcome. We partner with Him through planning and acting, but He is in charge of the results. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...One of the things we have been talking about these days is how to find joy in the world, and how joy is different from happiness. This verse from John is an excellent example.
Here Jesus assures us that we will be tested, and will have tribulations and trials. He does not tell us that we will be saved from such worldly trials and tribulations if we come to Him, instead He tells us to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to remember that our joy comes from what was done for us. Not because of who we are or what we do, but because of His love for us. Because of the cross, all of our trials and tribulations are for our personal growth and sanctification, as we learn to become more kind, giving and loving, even in the face of evil. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So often, followers of Jesus believe that God only loves us conditionally, if we act well or if we do something great for the church. If we do something wrong, some people believe that God begins to withhold from us. Maybe he doesn't want to talk to us or answer our prayers. Some people might think that He might hide to tease us or give us tasks to test us.
None of these mindsets or beliefs are in the scripture. The examples set by Jesus show that the children who run to Him with open arms are those that are most welcome in the Kingdom of Heaven. The price that God paid in sacrificing His son Jesus was not partial - it was complete - it was total love. That complete love for us exists today. Those that trust in the Lord and enter His gates with thanksgiving are those with the most access to a loving, welcoming God. At Rhema, we use teachings and other Christian Yoga practices to teach that God loves His sons and daughters, that He is in a good, and that He forgives quickly to those that humble themselves to His power and holiness. |
