Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...How we view God determines so much about our life. If we see the Lord as a constantly judging and wrathful Father, we may hide from Him and fear Him and strive to pass imagined "tests" that He is giving us, fearful of the result if we fail. If we see Him as uninterested and distant, we may ignore Him as well.
The lens we see God through is the lens we tend to view the world with as well. Our opinions of God affect our decisions, priorities and more in the physical, material world. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to remember a very important truth: God is good. He isn't out to punish us; He doesn't enjoy that and He is not quick to lose His temper. We can trust Him and lean into His strength. He loves us. He's for us. He not only has the power to help us but he wants to.

Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So many times we say, read and study that "God is Good!" But what does that actually mean? How do we live that truth out? What does it mean to be a son or daughter of a loving God?
If God is good, then he is not a distant, unapproachable Father. He is a good Father that wants to meet with us, develop a loving relationship with us, and more. Here at Rhema, we use Christian yoga not only to develop a greater understanding of the goodness of God, but also to facilitate encounters through our practice as we worship the Lord with our body, soul and spirit. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...This is a topic we hit on a lot, either directly or indirectly. Why? Because it is such a life-changing concept to understand, and then live out. Nothing changes your perspectives, priorities and relationships more than an understand of who God is, how he sees you and how much he loves you.
At Rhema, we practice Christian Yoga to connect to God, facilitating encounters, teaching theology, meditating on scripture and more to help students understand and connect to a gracious, loving Father. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Nothing is easier than remembering what we did wrong in the past and feeling ashamed for it... even though we hate the feelings we experience when we do this, we tend to do it much more than we should. When we do this, we are actually meditating on things that bring worry, stress and more. We are misusing the imagination and the human brain.
The result? Shame grows in our lives. It keeps us from our destiny, it denies the work that was done for us on the cross, and it reduces our lives to a mundane existence. Shame is from the enemy, not from heaven. Here at Rhema, we use Christian Yoga postures, meditation and more to remember one key idea: Don't get stuck in the past. We are children of a God of new things. Enjoy what he has done but learn to live in the present, hopeful for the future will bring. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...There are times in our lives when we are prone to think that God has forgotten us. In this section of the Bible, Jeremiah is writing to the captives in Babylon, a people who certainly felt forgotten by their God. What was His message to His people at this time? God is thinking of you.
God doesn't think of of you or me just part of the time. He is a loving, caring Father that is always close, even when it seems as if our entire lives are falling apart. If I we are His children, then the truth is that his thoughts are on us and are of peace, not evil. God is always thinking of the expected end. He has the foresight to see down the path to the end. Sometimes we think He is cruel for blocking our path or allowing evil to happen in our lives. At Rhema, we practice Christian Yoga to remember that God loves us and has our eternity in mind, not just the short term. He can see the disaster that lies ahead as well as the redemption that He has planned. He always has the end result in view. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...So many times, we forget how powerful we are as people, and especially as God's creation. Modern media and marketing, mean people, our own attitude of self-comparison, unfortunate circumstances and more make us feel as though we are never enough, and may never be enough. We begin to see ourselves and treat ourselves as though we are inferior.
Equally important, the way we treat ourselves, and what we think about ourselves, is how we instruct others to treat and see us. Here at Rhema, we use Christian yoga to remind people that they are sons and daughters of a mighty, loving King. We teach empowerment, significance and identity as children of God. Such children do not need to feel inferior, they can choose to rise above whatever the world or other people throw at them, because they draw their source of strength and identity from God within them, not from whatever happens around them. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Zephaniah 3:17 shows the loving, joyful relationship that we are all meant to have as sons and daughters of our Father and King.
In this verse of the Bible, God our Father is shown as one who holds his daughter Jerusalem and sings joyfully in her presence. This is much the same as a loving parent cradles their child and sings out of love. After a time of hardship, our loving Lord dries His people’s tears, comforts their hearts, and welcomes them to a new world. Equally so, there is rejoicing in God’s presence when those who are lost repent and are made right with God. Here at Rhema, we use Christian yoga to reveal the identity all of us have as sons and daughters of such a loving King, and to begin the process of being made right with the Lord once again. We have a loving, caring Father, and He is in a good mood! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...In this part of the Bible, we are encouraged to places whatever cares, afflictions, trials and more that might come up in our lives, and there are many, upon God. If we do, we are told that we will be sustained by God as a result. He will bear both us and our burdens.
This is what it means to be a son or a daughter, and not an orphan. Orphans try to carry their burdens alone, often believing that God is unwilling or unable to do so. A son knows that they have a loving Father, and runs to him. God will carry both both us and our load like a parent carries their child when he is hurt. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to remember this idea of sonship. When we are righteous and trust in and depend on God, we are safe and protected. That is not to say nothing bad will happen to us on this world, but it is to say that we will go through nothing alone. With God by our side, we will overcome. This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...So many of us have yet to understand this. When it comes to stepping into our God-given life destiny, it is often our own self doubt that becomes our biggest enemy. Shakespeare called such self doubts traitors that "make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”
Whether doubtful voices come from within our not, they are dream killers and destiny stoppers. They are often complete lies as well. Here at Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to help people understand that there is a loving God who wants to love and I support us just the way you are now. Why? Because we're perfectly and wonderful just the way we are. This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...So many times we see things in the world around us that we judge as "bad," "good," and somewhere in between. How do we change these things? How do we know that we are seeing things accurately? how do we know if we should even try to bring change to an area of life?
Some many times, the answer to the questions above is simple: it starts within. Find healing, find wholeness, and learn how to steward your thoughts and feelings with the Holy Spirit. From that place, you will be able to change the culture around you to match the culture you cultivate inside. At Rhema, we use different practices within our system of Christian Yoga to bring people closer to the Father. From there, those thoughts, feelings and perspectives start to change to be more like Him. |
