Your Christian Yoga "Daily"How can defensive behavior actually hinder communication? How could it actually hurt relationships?
There are probably many ways, but today we are going to focus on what I consider to be one of the biggest. When we are defensive, we are focusing on ourselves, and specifically, protecting ourselves. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to grow into greater levels of understanding that connection requires a focus on the other person. That God is our defender, and that vulnerability creates connection. Certainly, we must also have boundaries, especially around unhealthy people, but if we go through life continuously defending ourselves against both real and perceived slander, we cannot truly focus on, and love our neighbor.

Your Christian Yoga "Daily"One of the biggest problems believers have when it comes to repentance is this - they think that God is mad at them, and won't forgive them. In fact, many people think that he wants to punish them for being so bad!
This is simply not true. When we practice Rhema Yoga, some of the important things we learn is that God is good, that he loves us, and that he doesn't want to punish us. He is quick to forgive someone that is truly sorry for what they did wrong and eager to live a better life. He is not a punishing father, but a loving one. He wants his kids to be happy, to learn, and to grow. When we have faith in him as this kind of good father, we are able to repent quickly, and receive his forgiveness. Your Christian Yoga "Daily" PostSo often, the way you talk about yourself, or don't talk about yourself, is what leads others to understand how to treat us as well. Sound strange?
Basically, the way you treat yourself and the way you value yourself informs others about how they should do the same. Why should they listen to your words and value your thoughts if you don't do the same? You teach people how to treat you by how you treat yourself. At Rhema, we use different Christian Yoga concepts and ideas to learn who God says we are, and to understand what he thinks about us. From there, gain a newfound understanding of our own identity of sons and daughters of a great and mighty King. God loves us, and calls us good. Why not join him? |
