This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...We can be strong and courageous because of the God inside of us who is strong and courageous.
When we become Christians, we invite the Holy Spirit into our hearts. At this point, our body becomes a temple, and within that temple is the dwelling place of God. When we walk a path to that temple, we meet with God and feel his presence. We don’t have to fear knowing that He is on our side. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to make a path to that temple within us. That meeting place between us and the Lord. The more we go within to meet with God, the more worn that path becomes.

This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...God requires righteousness, but He also provided a way for us to be righteous through His Son Jesus Christ.
In everything we do, it's important to remember that we serve a loving God who is always looking out for our best. He is 100% holy and righteous, but he also is loving, and provides a way for his children to be with him. Here at Rhema, we use different forms of Christian Yoga to help people understand the love of God, and how easy it is to be with him in community. Not because of anything we really do or do not do, but because of what was already done for us. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...The devil loves nothing more than the opportunity to bring up our past mistakes and sins and try to tell us who we are because of them. The enemy loves to use shame and guilt to tell us what we should think about our identity, our ability, our holiness, our significance and our value.
The problem with his argument is that he's wrong! We are saved and justified by what God thinks of us. By what Jesus did for us. We are covered by the blood of the lamb and made pure in the eyes of God. It's true that if we didn't have the price paid at the cross, we would never make it into Heaven because of the high standards that God holds in purity, holiness and more. But what God's righteousness demanded, His grace provided. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to understand this vital truth. He paid it all so that we could be with Him for all time and eternity. Not because of anything we did, but because of His love for us. Don't let the enemy use your past to attack you with guilt and shame. Guilt and shame are not part of the Kingdom. Learn to get past your past. As soon as tomorrow you can begin a new day and work towards a brighter future. Nothing worthwhile is always easy, but it is always worth doing! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Happiness is an emotion that we often feel when the sun is out, or we are with close friends, or with our spouse on a great date. Happiness, a wonderful feeling, comes and goes.
Joy is much deeper. Joy is a deep, satisfied, hopeful expectation of good things to come. It is also a deep sense of pleasure that comes from our relationship with God, with Holy Spirit dwelling within us. You can't fake joy, although you can and sometimes should even fake happiness. Joy comes from within - it comes from Holy Spirit within you, from your expected future in eternity with God, and more. When times are tough, you can still joy. When everything seems to be wrong, your joy can actually grow. At Rhema Yoga, we use the 4 legs to cultivate our body, soul and spirit in a way that connects us to Jesus as His sons and daughters. Through this connection, we find more and more joy. Through that joy, we walk with more and more victory here on earth. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we undertake challenging tasks, whether related to our own growth and inner healing or our job, we can sometimes be overwhelmed with everything that comes up against us.
At times, so many opportunities may vanish that we may think God is against us, or ignoring us. Challenges and missed opportunities can be very frustrating, but we need to remember that our God is with us. Even if your business fails, God will walk with you and make the experience one of the richest and most valuable in your life. Even if you make the same mistake or fall into the same sin over and over again, God will take your hand and walk with you again toward strength and healing. If you're following Jesus and it feels like you're losing, then you're just not at the end. At Rhema, we work with our students within our system of Christian Yoga to develop a sense of connection with God. With this, we learn how to partner with Him and walk with Him through the good times and bad. Through the fires of life and the fun. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we live from a place of hope in our lives, we live without a sense a restrictions and boundaries, similar to when we are asleep and dreaming. When we are asleep and dreaming, anything can happen, and the sky's the limit in terms of what we can do.
As sons and daughters of God, we can live our lives from this place. We can hope for amazing, miraculous moves of God in our world and lives. We can hope for healings after we pray, financial provision and more. The world around us often laughs at the hopes and dreams of followers of Jesus. "How in the world would you do that?!" is a question people often ask. But when we know who our God is, and who He says we are, we learn that anything is possible in our lives - we can dream big dreams. We can hope for massive things, without knowing how we will get there... It's not about how we will get there, it's about who is walking with us. At Rhema, we use our system of Christian Yoga to learn more about what is possible with God. We learn to work without striving, plan and take action, and leave the rest to the God of the universe. This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.”
So many times, when you see someone walking in pride, you find that they spend more of their time talking, not listening. They spend more time judging, not blessing. They spend more time reacting, not responding. Being humble means understanding that we are nothing without Jesus. That as amazing as we are in one area of life, there are many more areas that we are less than amazing at. There is an old Chinese saying that states: "Out of any 3 people walking down the street, at least one of them could teach me something." We can always learn more from each other. Here at Rhema, we understand that when you position yourself to learn from other people, you will receive their wisdom. We know that when you position yourself to learn from God, the same is true. Our Christian Yoga practice is focused on a humble, hungry spirit. Hungry for wisdom, community and God! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...What does that mean? How are we the "Light of the World?"
With God within us, we have the power not only to be strong in the darkness, but to change the dark to light! Not because of anything we did or will do, but because of who He is and what was already done for us, His valuable sons and daughters. There are times in life when our circumstances make us believe that this is simply untrue. The world is very good at beating us down to the dust when we forget who we are - when we forget our identity. Don't forget whatever new surroundings and circumstances you face, the truth is still the truth. At Rhema, we use the 4 legs of our Christian Yoga system to teach and remind Rhema Yoga yogis how valuable God says they are. How they are significant. How they are powerful. How they are more than enough. And how the future will be wonderful, because our God is good and redeems all things. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...We are so good at remembering our past mistakes and errors, and then partnering with shame about these mistakes. Partnering with shame might initially look and feel like being humble and repentant, but it is not the way of God, because shame brings guilt and condemnation with it. Our God does not want us to feel ashamed, condemned or guilty as His royal sons and daughters. He wants us to feel empowered to change the world because of our identity as His children, significant in this world because we reflect His light in it. God invites us to repent and move forward, not to partner with shame and live in condemnation for our past. The more we understand this truth, the more we are free to live a life of power and light for the Kingdom. At Rhema, we use our 4 main Christian Yoga practices to learn this truth and implement it into our lives to an ever-greater degree. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Whatever you focus on, you empower.
This simple truth has been affecting lives since the beginning of time. Whatever you focus on becomes larger and more influential in your life. It doesn't matter if you think this thing you are focusing on is a "bad" thing or a "good" thing, it will grow in influence in your life. That can be problematic, because as we all know, problems have a way of attracting more problems. The silver lining is that blessings attract more blessings. This therefore, is a major Kingdom dynamic: what you focus on, you empower. For that reason, Rhema Yoga focuses on training the mind through meditations and yoga postures, all through our version of Christian Yoga. We learn how to tame the thoughts and thought patterns in our mind, and to "put them under lordship," so to speak. That allows us to be more present, more intentional in our thoughts and more. |
