This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...There's an interesting thing about hunger - whatever we hunger for tends to grow over time, as we focus on it more in both mind and emotions.
If we hunger for things of this world, that often creates more hunger, and can lead to an insatiable, soulish hunger for material things that we can never actually quench. That's the interesting thing about hunger... what we hunger for tends to grow over time as we focus on it more and more. That's why hungering for God is a wonderful thing that leads to us changing the world, and hungering for things of this world (whether they be relationships, money, power or more) leads to idolatry and bondage. At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to teach people how to hunger and strive to relationship with the Lord. It's a relationship that God meets you at.

This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...Often times, we hear other Christians say something along the lines of "rest in Jesus" or "Just cast your cares on the Lord..." It sounds great, but what does that look like?
Many Christians wonder the same thing. They hear these phrases, which are true, and try desperately to do them... and fail. Not because they don't have the will, but because they don't know how to do it! Frustrated and defeated after trying to find a way to "rest in Jesus," people often end up finding rest and comfort from people or material things instead of God, often without even knowing it. Resting in Jesus looks like different things to different people. At Rhema Yoga, we use Christian Yoga to teach people how to exercise their body, minister to their spirit, and find rest for their soul. This is done through yoga postures, meditations, teachings and more - it's a wonderful way to find relationship and "rest" in the Lord! This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...So often when we get stuck in our past, we become depressed, and when we fixate on the future we become anxious. Why is this?
When we think of the past too much, we tend to fixate on what we did wrong, or what happened to us that was bad. When we think of the future, we think of what may go wrong again! It's not necessarily our fault, our ancestors had to do this for centuries in order to survive in the jungles, deserts and woodlands of the world! We inherited a legacy of survival, not happiness. That comes only from God. At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to teach the truths that happiness and joy are an inside job - they start with God on the inside, and end with happiness and joy radiating on the outside. With God, we can think of our past with peace, knowing that God doesn't see our mistakes and wants to heal our traumas. We can rest as we look to the future, knowing that he is a good God, and want's to protect and provide for us all of the way~ |
