Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...

These days, love seems like an emotional high, a twittering of butterflies in the stomach that should come every time we see that special someone.  When these feelings fade over time, we wonder if we have fallen out of love.  When we no longer think of the person we think we love and get excited, or get a rush, we start to believe that we simply "fell out of love."

Love is not accidental - it's something you choose to do - it's not something you just "fall into."

How can that be true?  Well, consider the possibility that love is not that initial rush you feel when you're with someone.  It's not the butterflies in your stomach or the way you feel like your life is better because you have that someone interested in you or next to you.

Love is an intentionally choice that you make, every day, for the rest of your life.  You choose to love someone even when they are hard to love.  When you feel like they don't deserve your love.  When you feel the opposite of butterflies in your stomach.

In the Bible, you see what might be the best case of intentional love - when Jesus decides to be tortured and sacrificed because he decides to love the very people that are to killing him.

At Rhema, we use our system of Christian Yoga to remember the intentional choice for love Jesus made for us, so that we can become better at doing the same in our lives.

When we learn more and more about how God intentionally chose to love us, who were not "worthy" or near the same level of excellence that he was, we learn more and more about how deciding to love intentionally.

Even when we don't think the other person is at the same "level" as us, or deserve it as much as us, we become better and better at following the example set for us, and choosing to love.
