Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we live from a place of hope in our lives, we live without a sense a restrictions and boundaries, similar to when we are asleep and dreaming. When we are asleep and dreaming, anything can happen, and the sky's the limit in terms of what we can do.
As sons and daughters of God, we can live our lives from this place. We can hope for amazing, miraculous moves of God in our world and lives. We can hope for healings after we pray, financial provision and more. The world around us often laughs at the hopes and dreams of followers of Jesus. "How in the world would you do that?!" is a question people often ask. But when we know who our God is, and who He says we are, we learn that anything is possible in our lives - we can dream big dreams. We can hope for massive things, without knowing how we will get there... It's not about how we will get there, it's about who is walking with us. At Rhema, we use our system of Christian Yoga to learn more about what is possible with God. We learn to work without striving, plan and take action, and leave the rest to the God of the universe.

This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.”
So many times, when you see someone walking in pride, you find that they spend more of their time talking, not listening. They spend more time judging, not blessing. They spend more time reacting, not responding. Being humble means understanding that we are nothing without Jesus. That as amazing as we are in one area of life, there are many more areas that we are less than amazing at. There is an old Chinese saying that states: "Out of any 3 people walking down the street, at least one of them could teach me something." We can always learn more from each other. Here at Rhema, we understand that when you position yourself to learn from other people, you will receive their wisdom. We know that when you position yourself to learn from God, the same is true. Our Christian Yoga practice is focused on a humble, hungry spirit. Hungry for wisdom, community and God! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...What does that mean? How are we the "Light of the World?"
With God within us, we have the power not only to be strong in the darkness, but to change the dark to light! Not because of anything we did or will do, but because of who He is and what was already done for us, His valuable sons and daughters. There are times in life when our circumstances make us believe that this is simply untrue. The world is very good at beating us down to the dust when we forget who we are - when we forget our identity. Don't forget whatever new surroundings and circumstances you face, the truth is still the truth. At Rhema, we use the 4 legs of our Christian Yoga system to teach and remind Rhema Yoga yogis how valuable God says they are. How they are significant. How they are powerful. How they are more than enough. And how the future will be wonderful, because our God is good and redeems all things. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...We are so good at remembering our past mistakes and errors, and then partnering with shame about these mistakes. Partnering with shame might initially look and feel like being humble and repentant, but it is not the way of God, because shame brings guilt and condemnation with it. Our God does not want us to feel ashamed, condemned or guilty as His royal sons and daughters. He wants us to feel empowered to change the world because of our identity as His children, significant in this world because we reflect His light in it. God invites us to repent and move forward, not to partner with shame and live in condemnation for our past. The more we understand this truth, the more we are free to live a life of power and light for the Kingdom. At Rhema, we use our 4 main Christian Yoga practices to learn this truth and implement it into our lives to an ever-greater degree. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Whatever you focus on, you empower.
This simple truth has been affecting lives since the beginning of time. Whatever you focus on becomes larger and more influential in your life. It doesn't matter if you think this thing you are focusing on is a "bad" thing or a "good" thing, it will grow in influence in your life. That can be problematic, because as we all know, problems have a way of attracting more problems. The silver lining is that blessings attract more blessings. This therefore, is a major Kingdom dynamic: what you focus on, you empower. For that reason, Rhema Yoga focuses on training the mind through meditations and yoga postures, all through our version of Christian Yoga. We learn how to tame the thoughts and thought patterns in our mind, and to "put them under lordship," so to speak. That allows us to be more present, more intentional in our thoughts and more. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Sometimes, you're the hardest person to forgive and let go. I often say that the three hardest critics I've ever known are "me, myself and I." This isn't just a joke, there's a lot of truth to it!
Although it might be difficult, it's vital that you learn to forgive yourself, and let go. When you do, you'll actually allow yourself to do and be who you really want to be - free and happy. This is zoe living. At Rhema, we use our Christian Yoga classes to help students understand how quickly and lovingly God forgives and forgets so that they can begin to do the same. This is how we learn to get past our past, and look forward. We are more than conquerors in Christ, because we are empowered to live our lives with our destiny in mind. We are significant as children of God. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...This is an important truth to understand and remember... you cannot control or argue with reality... you can only accept it and decide how to respond to it.
So many times, people get upset with the world around them because it is not what they want, or what they expected. This is understandable, but the major problem is what happens next. Upset at their reality, people often then react, trying to either run away from their reality or control it. Much better is to respond to the reality around you. When we react to our reality, we are not present. When we respond to our reality, we are present. If you are not present, you are not living your life fully. You are not taming your thoughts and putting them under lordship, and you are not living as a light to the world. It's so important to understand how responding to reality, accepting the world around you, and remembering that God is good no matter what affects your ability to be present. At Rhema, we teach our students how to be present, mindful and a light to the world through our system of Christian Yoga that features teachings, meditations, postures and more. It's a never-ending journey that brings more and more blessings each step of the way! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...What is "Yoga?" Yoga means union, or yoking. Many say that we are yoking ourselves with the one and only Supreme Spirit.
To Rhema Yoga, that can only be God - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We use Christian Yoga to yoke ourselves to Him and grow in power, significance and identity, because his yoke is gentle. His burden light. Through breathwork, yoga postures, meditations, teachings and more, we learn to connect with, or yoke to, God in more ways than ever before. Through that connection, union. Through that union, significance, power and identity. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So many times we become passionate about something, begin it, and then let it fall unfinished. It's important to remember, at these moments, that we need both passion to ignite us and get us going, and character to continue after the burning passion has worn out.
So many times, when our passion runs out, we believe we should stop what we're doing - this is not true. At Rhema, we know first hand that in anything you do, whether relationships, your Christian yoga practice, your secular career, your Christian ministry, or anything else, your passion will come and go. Being passionate about something is not a bad thing, but make sure you can finish whatever you start. If you're stuck, get passionate to get going. If you've started too many things, step into your great character and see it through. This is the way of the Kingdom. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we are saved and set free, we follow Jesus and find a great amount of joy come into our lives. But often, we start thinking that our lives here on earth should suddenly become easier, happier, and more comfortable than ever before. This can be problematic, because not only is that not promised, it's often not true! Followers of Jesus are on this earth for many things - spreading the light of God, loving mankind and more.
One of the other things we are here for is sanctification. This means that one of the major reasons we are here is to face tribulations, and learn how to overcome them by becoming more like Christ each time. This is, I'm sure you can guess, not easy to do. So as sure as tribulations will come, it's also sure that you will stumble from time to time. The simple truth is that while we follow Christ, we are not yet like Him. That's the point! At Rhema, we work to remember that it's often easy for us to believe lies about ourselves when we stumble. A very common lie we hear after we stumble is that we're stuck - but the fact is that you were made for freedom. Our system of Christian Yoga is designed to remind you that in Christ, you've been set free. Sometimes you stumble; but you get up, seek forgiveness, shake it off, and go forward again. |
