Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Sometimes, you're the hardest person to forgive and let go. I often say that the three hardest critics I've ever known are "me, myself and I." This isn't just a joke, there's a lot of truth to it!
Although it might be difficult, it's vital that you learn to forgive yourself, and let go. When you do, you'll actually allow yourself to do and be who you really want to be - free and happy. This is zoe living. At Rhema, we use our Christian Yoga classes to help students understand how quickly and lovingly God forgives and forgets so that they can begin to do the same. This is how we learn to get past our past, and look forward. We are more than conquerors in Christ, because we are empowered to live our lives with our destiny in mind. We are significant as children of God.

Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...This is such a popular, encouraging verse. Let's look today at why that might be. One of the most amazing things about this scripture to me is that Paul wrote these words while facing some of the worst trials of his life. Not many of this write such things when in much less terrible trials.
Yet Paul, despite the threat of pain and death, realized that God gives us strength in ways that go beyond the good, "normal" and bad times. The strength of Christ provides for us like nothing else on earth. Christ gives us the strength to not only endure the tough times, but also to grow during them. We are victors in Him. We don't just lay around in pain, struggling to survive, we can grow and overcome as we face obstacles battles. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to learn more and more about how Jesus gives us the strength in our lives. Strength in the good, the bad and the ugly. We have the ability to see beyond our present circumstances and to trust in Him to provide. He won the victory, and so we can truly do all things through Christ in us. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we look at the Bible, we see that when God remembers many of the people that have lived and died, He remembers their amazing acts of faith.
Despite the fact that many of the people He talks about in glowing terms sinned, He ignores the sins and magnifies their faith. Why is it that He remembers their faith, without remembering their sin? In a word, repentance. When we repent, God is quick to forgive, and when God forgives, He forgets that part of our history that is sin. If God forgives us and forgets our past, why don't we? At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to remember that we can get past our past, and begin a new life as soon as tomorrow. We don't have to be a victim of our past. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...When we have faith to announce what belongs to us, even before we have it, we go a long way in empowering ourselves to take a hold of these things. We walk through whatever fires and inconveniences exist on our way to the promises that have been given to us by God, often by revelation.
But it's not enough to just declare what belongs to us, after God has revealed to us that something is ours. We have to walk out the process of actually inheriting that these things. That might not always look good. It might not always be comfortable. We might fall and hurt ourselves in the process of walking out our inheritance. Faith will explore what revelation reveals. Faith will take you to explore a realm that has been promised to your from revelations from God. Faith is what pushes you to get up after you've fallen, to push through offense, trials and more on your way to your inheritance. You cannot just get a revelation of who you are and what belongs to you, you must declare it and then claim it; and Jesus will walk with you all along the way. At Rhema Yoga, we write books, produce videos and more to teach our system of Christian Yoga - all faith, revelation, our inheritance as sons and daughters and more. Because if you don't walk out your destiny as a faith child of the King, revelations by themselves won't do you any good - you have to have the faith to explore and test the things that have promised to you. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...These days, love seems like an emotional high, a twittering of butterflies in the stomach that should come every time we see that special someone. When these feelings fade over time, we wonder if we have fallen out of love. When we no longer think of the person we think we love and get excited, or get a rush, we start to believe that we simply "fell out of love."
Love is not accidental - it's something you choose to do - it's not something you just "fall into." How can that be true? Well, consider the possibility that love is not that initial rush you feel when you're with someone. It's not the butterflies in your stomach or the way you feel like your life is better because you have that someone interested in you or next to you. Love is an intentionally choice that you make, every day, for the rest of your life. You choose to love someone even when they are hard to love. When you feel like they don't deserve your love. When you feel the opposite of butterflies in your stomach. In the Bible, you see what might be the best case of intentional love - when Jesus decides to be tortured and sacrificed because he decides to love the very people that are to killing him. At Rhema, we use our system of Christian Yoga to remember the intentional choice for love Jesus made for us, so that we can become better at doing the same in our lives. When we learn more and more about how God intentionally chose to love us, who were not "worthy" or near the same level of excellence that he was, we learn more and more about how deciding to love intentionally. Even when we don't think the other person is at the same "level" as us, or deserve it as much as us, we become better and better at following the example set for us, and choosing to love. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Some people believe that God is good only to the pastors, priests and ministers of the world. Only the people that are devoting their careers to Him. Only other people who seem to, for whatever reason, be better at the "rules" of Christianity than they are.
This is very similar to the mindset that existed when Jesus came to the earth. And yet, Jesus was most harsh to the pharisees and sadducees, the clergy of that time. These groups of people devoted their entire lives to religion, and were seen by the people of the time as more holy, pure and more loved by God than anyone else. But it isn't about the things that you see on the outside. It's not about what you do for a living, or how well you seem to be at following the "rules" of this faith or that. It's about the heart. As Jesus said, two of the most important commandments are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself." At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to improve at these two commandments, not to get better at rules or to look more holy and pure than anyone else. Rhema is about being real, being authentic, and being hungry for greater connection to God. We use our system of Christian Yoga to get there. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Some people may have thought about doing things they've always wanted to do for quite some time, but were afraid they would look silly, or wouldn't be able to.
Being scared absolutely will hold you back from your calling and destiny. Fear holds us back from preaching, sharing testimonies, building community, and influencing others. One of the things that I want Rhema Yoga to change in the world is this: people being scared. We use Christian Yoga to overcome fears through finding personal identity, understanding our own significance and developing a God-given sense of empowerment to change our lives and then the world around us through the love of the Father. God made you a masterpiece. He gave you a strong heart, and a beautiful mind. Don't hold back! Be who you were meant to be! Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Joy is so different than happiness. Happiness comes when the sun is shining, our health is good and more. And there is nothing wrong with experiencing happiness. But what in the world is joy?
Paul tells us to find joy in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. But in James, it's even more of a bold statement when we hear: "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds (James 1:2)." This surely shows us how joy is different from happiness - joy in tribulations?! At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga practices to understand that joy is a deeper state of being that surpasses simple emotions. We find joy in our faith, our Father, our status as sons and daughters and the amazing future we have in eternity. So yes, enjoy happiness - but pursue joy~ Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Love always subsists on motive and reason more than feelings alone. The verb "רחם" (racham) signifies to love with all the tender feelings of nature. Why did the author love Jehovah?
Yes, because God is good all the time. And not just "good," but infinitely good - better than we could imagine. And yet it isn't just that. Not only is God infinitely great and good, possessed of all possible perfections, but because God was good to him. Here in Psalm 18, he here enumerates some of the many blessings he received from the Lord. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to understand how God is good to us as individual people. How He loves us and why. We understand what it means to be children of a loving God. Through that relationship and that love, we find a source of strength that we would never otherwise have. This is the strength that helps us change the world around us and reflect the love and light of God in a dark world. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...It's hard to find happiness when you don't feel secure, and let's face it, security can be hard to find when we consider our jobs, relationships, health and more.
It is at these moments, then, when we remember that happiness is an emotion, and joy something much more deep and meaningful that comes from our membership as children in God's family. Anne Morrow Lindbergh, the wife of famous aviator Charles Lindbergh once said "For happiness one needs security, but joy can spring like a flower even from the cliffs of despair. " How is this possible? Why is joy able to thrive and grow when happiness is wilting and dying? At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to remember the hope that lies within us by connecting with our God through postures, meditations, breathwork, teachings and more. Through that hope, we find joy. Joy in being saved and loved by the God of the universe, joy in being good enough as we are now, joy that no matter what happens here on this earth for 80-120 years, we will have an eternal life of happiness, joy, health and more. This is simply our training ground, our sanctification time, and we use yoga to refine our souls and connect to our King. |
