~Acceptance doesn't Require Agreement~

So often, people around the world tend to fall into a mindset that says something along the lines of "You have to agree with me, or I don't accept you - I will reject you."

There is nothing new to this.  People have been doing this for centuries.  It leads to everything from the fight two children have in their home to a world war or two.  Rejecting people who are different than you, or who think differently than you, is easier, more comfortable, and seems safer.

It can be confusing then, to read about Jesus spending so much time with people who were different than He was.  The only people Jesus was actually mean to and rejected openly was the religious populations of His time: the very populations that were said to be loving and worshiping God the most.  

At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to understand that we are all connected as created in the image of God.  We do not have to agree to accept each other as having the same creator.  That doesn't mean that we decide to change to be more like those we disagree with, or even that we begin to tell people that we disagree with that we think they are right and we are right... and everyone is right... we can believe we are right and they are wrong, and we can accept them and love them with the love of the Father as well.
