Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So many times great movements of God grow and change the world. Lives are changed, cultures are changed, and nations grow closer to Him.
However, when people get entrenched in these movements, they start to build tall statues and beautiful buildings within that movement that later become monuments to what God did... not what He's doing now. Making monuments to what God did on earth and who He moved through is a good thing - not understanding that these things are monuments that capture what He did, not what He is doing, is not a good thing. When we get lost in the monuments of what God did, we forget to look for and learn forward into what He's doing now. When that happens, the body of Christ becomes less relevant to a modern land, and less of a light to a dark world. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga practices to learn how to connect to God more and understand His heart for the past, present and future of His planet and His people. By doing this, we learn how to honor the past, while leaning forward into the future.

This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...So often, people around the world tend to fall into a mindset that says something along the lines of "You have to agree with me, or I don't accept you - I will reject you."
There is nothing new to this. People have been doing this for centuries. It leads to everything from the fight two children have in their home to a world war or two. Rejecting people who are different than you, or who think differently than you, is easier, more comfortable, and seems safer. It can be confusing then, to read about Jesus spending so much time with people who were different than He was. The only people Jesus was actually mean to and rejected openly was the religious populations of His time: the very populations that were said to be loving and worshiping God the most. At Rhema Yoga, we use our system of Christian Yoga to understand that we are all connected as created in the image of God. We do not have to agree to accept each other as having the same creator. That doesn't mean that we decide to change to be more like those we disagree with, or even that we begin to tell people that we disagree with that we think they are right and we are right... and everyone is right... we can believe we are right and they are wrong, and we can accept them and love them with the love of the Father as well. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Sometimes we get upset because things don't always meet our expectations of perfection.
However, it is our standard, not the reality, is the real issue. If we require everything to be perfect according to how we want it, we are ensuring a life of striving, frustration and fatigue. Here at Rhema, we use lessons from our system of Christian Yoga learn how to understand the way that our mind works, how it can bring suffering if it is not under lordship, and how it can bring prosperity if it is. Of course, we then learn how to bring it under lordship as well! In the end, one of the biggest issues that we all face is an unrealistic desire for perfection in an imperfect, fallen world. Excellence in all we do is a much better goal than perfection, and brings prosperity with peace instead of frustration. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...So many times we take the ideas and concepts of the world into our walk with Jesus. The problem with this is that the ways of the world are often directly opposite of and even opposed to the ways of the Kingdom.
Why is that? Well, for starters, the world is fallen while the Kingdom is free from sin. The world is full of orphans, and the Kingdom is for sons and daughters of the great King of the Universe. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to understand and then live out the idea that we are valuable because what was already paid for us. Because of what was already done for us. It is not because of what we do or want to do. We are significant because the God of Heaven said so, not because of anything we did or want to do. This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...When we were younger, we didn't care much about where we were going, or how fast we were going nearly as much as we cared about who was with us - namely, mom or dad.
Somewhere along the line, we began to grow stronger and more confident with age, and this became less important. But when it comes to our spiritual walk, this is a dynamic we never want to forget. It isn't about the size of your ministry, or your paycheck. It's not about how many things you've accomplished or accumulated. It's who you're walking with. It can be so easy to forget this when you are focused on providing for your family, changing the world for Jesus, accumulating wealth or even saving souls. But no matter what you are doing, the dynamic is always the same - don't do it without Jesus walking with you by your side... otherwise, you're doing it alone, and as an orphan. Sons and daughters do it with Jesus. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to connect with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit on a regular basis - we learn how to listen to Him, how to walk with Him, and how to follow Him as well; because it's not what you do, but who you do it with. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...One of the key truths we hold at Rhema Yoga is that all of us are created in the image of God. This means that as sons and daughters of the King, we have the ability to reflect the light and love of God to an often dark world.
Because we are all unique, we reflect God uniquely. Because we are sons and daughters learning to walk in the spirit, this is something we can learn to reflect naturally. Because we are reflecting God, this is always a beautiful thing. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to teach followers of Jesus how to walk in the spirit, and reflect the love and light of the Father uniquely, naturally and beautifully. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...Often, we feel alone in this world. Especially when we lose control of our situation, and face dangers that bring fear into our lives. When this happens, fear, worry and even despair may come into our lives.
But the truth is that we are never alone, especially as sons and daughters of a living, loving King. God is good at all times. He redeems all things. He always makes a way. At Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to learn how to bring our fears, shames, guilt, doubt and more all have to meet with this God. When we do, we remember that we are not alone - there is a God that we know, and can know more as time passes in our lives. We can lay down our pains, burdens and fears at the cross, knowing that our God can protect us and keep us standing. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...If we really believe that God is Good, we understand that everything He does, even when we don't understand it, is done with the love of the Father. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, His lens is love and mercy towards His children.
When bad things happen, it's easy to forget that the world is fallen, that people are free to choose evil, and that these things have consequences on our lives as well as the lives of other people. But when we remember that God is Good, we know that He will redeem all things. We know that whatever He sees, He sees through the eyes of mercy towards His children here on earth. He is not an evil, cold, distant Father. Here at Rhema, we use Christian Yoga to connect with God and understand how He sees us, the world and more. When we begin to understand that God's lens is merciful towards us, we feel that we can trust Him more, we feel more free to explore our world and love our lives. We have a loving, merciful God who is watching over us. He will not take actions to tease us, test us or torture us. Therefore, when life gets tough, we can call on Him, trust Him and run with Him. When life is good, we can do the same. Today in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Daily...What is hope? Is it something you feel when you are facing trouble? Is it something that you feel only in the good times? How does one obtain or cultivate hope?
Like so many feelings, hope is something you need to choose to obtain and cultivate in your life. Will it come into your life from time to time? Absolutely. But if you want to live a life of hope, you need to learn how to choose hope in the darkest times, to cultivate that hope when it's the last thing you want to do and it's the last thing that seems to make sense. At Rhema, we understand that it's not always easy to find the positive in every circumstance. However, the more you rise to the challenge, the stronger and happier you become. We use Christian Yoga practices to change mindsets towards empowerment. We are a people created by and loved by the King - we can rise to any challenge. We can choose hope. This Week in the Rhema "Christian Yoga" Weekly...Whether you are aware of it or not, there is no one in your life who has a more influential voice than... you.
It's not your spouse, a parent, a child or a friend. It's you. It's the stories you tell yourself about these people or what they did, the stories you tell yourself about the way you look, the way you feel, and so much more. No one talks to yourself more often than you do - what sort of stories will you tell yourself? Often, what you tell yourself is also what you meditate on, in either worry, happiness, doubt, or something else. You are in a constant, unending conversation with yourself. You are talking all the time, and telling yourself stories about everything around you. The stories you tell yourself all come from interpreting, perceiving and analyzing everything you see, feel and here - the external stimulates all around you. How are you perceiving things? What lens are you perceiving things with? What stories are you telling yourself? Speak life over yourself. Dare to believe that life is good, that you are good, and that God loves you. It can take courage to believe that people like you, that you are attractive, and that you add a lot to the groups you belong to. That courage is worth it though, because your self-talk can change your self-esteem, your self-image, and your life! God says you are amazing, and he knows you better than you know yourself. Why don't you join him? |
